North Florida Archers Meeting Minutes

December 6, 2017

  • The Club Meeting was called to order by Michael Chesser. The Pledge of Allegiance was given, and a Moment of Silence was observed for our men and women serving at home and abroad.
  • No minutes were read from the prior meeting. Lesa Clifford provided the Treasurer’s report for October and November:
    • 15 memberships renewed or started during this 2-month period
    • Regular monthly disbursements (utilities, etc.) for both months
    • Target acquisition expense in October for last group of targets purchased
    • The 2nd Annual Ethical Shoot saw an overall increase in participation from both Traditional & Compound Archers of all ages, with total income from the shoot up over $175
  • Michael Chesser updates & talking points:
    • The Hog has returned and continues destructive habits:
      • 6 Targets knocked over and the Lion Target attacked between Dec 2-3 prior to Ethical Shoot
      • City of Jacksonville may participate in cost for removal
      • Appointment scheduled with local, insured trapper (Ryan w/Quick Catch, featured on Nat Geo)
      • Trapper will assess property; trap poses no threat to human or animal life
      • Some back sections of the club may be closed during project
    • Membership prices increase effective January 1, 2018 (on renewal date):
      • Individual: $60
      • Family: $75
      • Increase necessary to cover rising maintenance costs and improve long-term financial health
    • Feedback from 2017:
      • Rendezvous and Monthly 3D Shoots had good participation
      • Tuesday shoots successful, aided by Social Media usage

      • Club maintenance and overall appearance, including trash on ranges
      • Inspection of large tree stands
      • Repair potholes on the road into the club
