North Florida Archers Meeting Minutes

February 05, 2020

  • The Club Meeting was called to order by Club President, Mike Chesser. The Pledge of Allegiance was completed and a Moment of Silence was observed for the Men and Women serving our country at home and abroad.
  • The Club Secretary read the minutes from the last meeting, minutes accepted as read by Membership.
  • The Club Treasurer provided a summary of Club Activity for January 2020.
    • Checking and Savings balances are looking good with usual and customary expenses including:
      • NFA memberships
        • 13 new including 5 families
        • 10 renewals including 6 families
  • Club President Michael Chesser had the following talking points:
    • Elections 2020
      • Chairman of Board, Billy Loudermilk accepted Nomination and was unanimously selected.
      • Webmaster, Jim Parsons accepted the Nomination and was unanimously selected.
      • Secretary, Don Williams accepted the Nomination and was unanimously selected.
      • Treasurer, Debbie Allen accepted the Nomination and was unanimously selected.
      • Vice President, Robert Keaton accepted the Nomination and was unanimously selected.
      • President, Mike Chesser accepted the Nomination and was unanimously selected.
      • Range Officer, Butch White accepted the Nomination and was unanimously selected.
      • Wil Clifford was given a Lifetime Honorary Membership for the leadership, guidance and support he has provided the club over the years.
    • TAS Shoot coming up on Feb 8-9, 2020
      • You can now shoot 2 classes with a shootdown format for Sunday using 1 bow of your choosing.
      • Top 12 by class goes to shoot down to determine winner.
      • Team event and Bowhunter Challenge done on Saturday afternoon.
      • Don Williams and Butch White to setup/lead Coon Shoot on Saturday evening at dark.
      • Food Truck coming.
      • Club portion of revenue increased since we are doing it all this year.
      • New NFA shirts are in and will be ready for the weekend.
    • 1st split weekend of Compound and Trad shoots are right around the corner.
    • Trad Rendezvous coming up in April
    • Lesa has idea for a design a shot challenge. More details to come…
    • Butch has ideas for website updates for Range Contributors Raffle at the end of the year with a good prize provided by the Club…will work with Jim to get it updated.
  • Pending Items:
    • Online Payment of membership dues has had a lot of interest. Mike to pursue with Jim P for addition to web portal.
  • Ongoing revenue discussion:
    • Adding Summer Coon Shoots
    • Spot Tourney at the bales
    • Other Ideas needed
    • Target Fund Contributors of a minimum $50 get placed on Board.
  • Field Archery update – Mike Shea
    • Target the Animal Course for Validation by NFAA and host Animal Round Shoot in 2020!
  • General Reminders for the Following:
    • NFA Tom Swift Rendezvous April 10-12, 2020.
    • Compound and Traditional Shoots will be split into different days in 2020 – See Event Schedule.
    • Shooter of the Year Changes for 2020 – $10 Fee to help defray costs – sign up in January.
    • December 20, 2019 is the NFA Christmas Party
    • Reminder to ALL that the LAST ONE OUT at any time during the day – LOCKS THE GATE!!!
