North Florida Archers Meeting Minutes

July 5, 2017

  • Meeting was called to order by Michael Chesser. The Pledge of Allegiance was given and a moment of silence was observed for our men and women serving at home and abroad.
  • Don Williams read the minutes from the June 7 club meeting, accepted as read by membership.
  • Lesa Clifford provided the treasures report.
    • Large number of membership renewals processed during June.
    • June Monthly Shoot and WMS continue to be revenue drivers with good participation.
    • Target fund has received several donations targeted to the 3D Lion Campaign that was started after the June Meeting.
    • Port-a-Potty and Waste Disposal cost reduction efforts remain in progress.
  • Charlie Nelson gave some updates:
    • The Thank You Letter from the Deputy Chief of Staff will be provided with a copy to the City of Jacksonville regarding the success of and our Club participation in the Wounded Warrior/Safe Harbor Exhibition Shoot remains pending.
    • The summer school archery project remains outstanding. Charlie has not received the necessary details from the contacts he approached so that effort remains outstanding.
    • Charlie has a Club By-Law review process going. Updates approved at the meeting include, “prohibited items on club property” i.e. Crossbows and “Tenure Restrictions” for your elected Club Officers.
      • Specified 1 year terms by and Consecutive Term limits by category.
      • Club President Re-election restrictions.
      • No Crossbows allowed on property
      • Charlie will cross review vs. Club Rules Update for discussion at next meeting.
      • Charlie will also review new member information package and member renewal letters created by Club Secretary for updates and discussion at the next meeting.
  • Michael Chesser updated the club on several ongoing topics;
    • It’s been a fun year with great turnout, good member support and participation. Thank You!
    • December meeting will take a look into 2018 and how we can move the club forward with membership, shoots, target acquisition and more. Plan to attend and bring your ideas!
    • Property Lease Renewal remains pending – work in progress.
    • Workday scheduled for July 15 for the Boundary Fence project. We need some help so come on out and support your club!
    • Extreme Shoot/ Aug 6 – 30 targets – We are looking for input on shot setup! Send us your ideas and we’ll see if they can be worked into the shoot.
    • 2nd Annual Ethical 3D Shoot – 25 targets – is slated for October 8,
  • Ongoing items include:
    • Pedestrian Swing Gate next to the tractor gate for the back ranges, TBD.
    • Rules of the Range Project/ By-law Updates and where to find them
    • Boundary Fence Project – July 15
  • There being no further business, a motion was made and seconded to adjourn.
