    5. OLD BUSINESS OR OPEN ISSUES

Correction to November meeting minutes-Jim Parsons will keep track of Shooter of the year scores for 2023 instead of Justin Connelly.

NFA Christmas party was held on December 3rd. Archer of the year was awarded to Mike Shea. Shooter of the year for Women’s Compound was Abbi Williams, Men’s Compound was Gene Parson, Traditional Men’s was Butch White and Traditional Women’s was Debbie Chesser.

The club will be looking for a new venue for the Christmas party next year. There’s a lot of planning that goes into getting everyone on the Navy base. We are looking to avoid that next year.

The targets ordered from Reinhardt should be arriving soon.

The contractor from the City came and did a survey and estimate for the new fencing in front of the club. This will enable the club to use the new gate entry system.

Abbi has not been able to access the Club Facebook page. Decision was made to create a new page which will be completed by the end of the year.

    1. NEW BUSINESS

The new NFA calendar for 2023 has been completed. The club has a lot going on in the months of March, April and May. Volunteers to help are needed for various things, primarily setting up and taking down ranges for shoots.

NFA Championship for 2023 will be a 1 day event instead of a 2 day event. Traditional and Compound shooters will participate in the 1 day event.

Motion was made by Butch White to increase club dues for the upcoming year. The proposal is for Single membership to be raised to $70, family membership to $85. The City has been consulted and they have given approval to increase the dues. The motion was voted on and passed.

NFA Work day will be held on January 7th from 8am-12pm. Butch will compile a list of tasks that need to be completed.

The tuning bale that was set up recently was damaged by a club member using broad heads. Signs are clearly posted that broad heads are not allowed. Cameras were set up and the member was seen 3 days in a row shooting the tuning bale with broad heads. This person’s club membership has been suspended until the Board has a chance to convene and decide what actions will be taken. The damage is estimated at over $160 dollars. The member has offered to pay for the damages.

A problem has arisen with the club obtaining 501-3C status. According to the IRS, the club has never filed taxes. The EIN number assigned to NFA is not an active number. The EIN number used for prior 501-3C status is assigned to the Navy. Debbie Allen has been speaking with a representative at the IRS to try and clear this up. More to come on this issue.

Club elections will be held tonight to replace Debbie Allen as Club Treasurer. The nominees are Jeremy Hall and Lu Stewart. Jeremy has been a CPA since 2007. He has held the position of Treasurer for other organizations. Lu has worked in the banking industry for over 25 years. She has also worked for a private school handling payroll and business transactions.

The vote for Club Treasurer was held and the result is Jeremy Hall was elected as new Club Treasurer. Lu Stewart will be available to assist Jeremy throughout the year, primarily during tax season.

Jeremy’s position as a Board member was vacated and Bob Keaton volunteered to fill the vacancy. Motion to accept Bob Keaton as a new Board member was voted on and passed.

Motion to adjourn meeting was made at 6:50 pm and carried.
