The regular monthly club meeting of North Florida Archers was called to order at 6:18 pm by Butch White, Club President Debbie Allen, Club Treasurer was absent The minutes for the previous meeting were reviewed by Debbie Lowe, Club Secretary and accepted. The Treasurer’s report was reviewed by Butch White, Club President and accepted. February month shoot was a success-49 total shooters (compound and traditional) TAS Shoot did not produce as much revenue as expected. There was a low turn-out due to some other clubs holding shoots the same weekend. Received good feedback from the shooters that attended. Possibly will consider changing the date for the TAS shoot next year. IBO Shoot is scheduled this month for March 25th-27th. Butch has been working with Levy to come up with the format. Shooters may compete in multiple classes and there will be a Championship round on Sunday. There will be 20 targets to qualify and 20 targets for the Championship round. Scores for qualifying round will carry over to the Championship round. 4-H Partnership-There will be a maximum of 20 students in the archery program. 4-H will pay $200 a year membership fee. That fee will only cover the students, if family members want to participate in archery they will have to join the club. They are asking for a 2 hour block of time per month and they will utilize the Youth range. They have their own block targets but the club will work with them to provide a fun archery experience. Butch spoke with the City and they will need proof of insurance for 4-H members. Once the City signs off on, the Club will go ahead and sign contract with 4-H. During the TAS Shoot, some members were upset about the range closures. The information regarding lane closures are clearly communicated on social media and the Club website. Members need to understand the lane closures are necessary. Butch is still working on get an electric gate set up. A representative from the Software Co. came out to inspect and gather information for a quote. Bill Coulter, President of Ft. Lauderdale Archers passed away this week. The Club property has been placed on the market by the City. This means that the City has put out for bids due to the need to have a new contract. Pre-proposal bid instructions have been sent out and these have been reviewed by the Club Officers. The proposal is 48 pages of legal jargon and it is recommended by the Club Officers that the Club hire a professional to review and to write a bid for NFA. According to the proposal, the bid will be awarded based on a points system. NFA meets all the criteria/qualifications so the Club should score high. Motion was made to hire counsel to write the bid, motion voted on and passed. Introduction to Archery class will be held on March 12th after the Traditional club shoot. Motion to adjourn meeting was made at 6:59 pm and carried. Meetings minutes completed by: Debbie Lowe, Club Secretary
