North Florida Archers meeting minutes

The regular monthly club meeting of North Florida Archers was called to order at 5:56 pm by Butch White, Club President

    1. REVIEW OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING MINUTES
    2. The minutes for the previous meeting was reviewed by Debbie Chesser, Club Secretary and accepted.

    3. REVIEW OF TREASURER’S REPORT
    4. The Treasurer’s report was reviewed by Jeremy Hall, Club Treasurer and accepted.

    5. OLD BUSINESS OR OPEN ISSUES
    6. It was determined by the Board, the member that caused damage to the tuning bales will pay a fine of $250. The payment has been received. Justin will order new foam to repair the tuning bale. New signage will be displayed warning members to not shoot broadheads except for designated area.

      Club dues were increased effective 1/2023 as discussed in prior meeting.

      Electric gates should be operational by Saturday, January 5th. The existing gate code will be used until all members are issued their individual access codes.

      Abbi was able to establish a new FaceBook page for the Club. Currently there are only 24 followers, it would be helpful if all members could share the new page. Also, make sure to share all the event that are posted to the new FaceBook.

    7. NEW BUSINESS

NFA Annual work day will be Saturday, January 5th. Butch and Justin have compiled a list of tasks to be completed. Some of the tasks on the list are as follows: Reorganizing the storage room, target inventory, re-stacking the target bales, cleaning the tournament lanes, pull compound stakes and repaint, move tuning bale to better location, clean bamboo on the trad range, repair the trailer bridge. Lunch will be provided for the work day.

The Circuit shoot will be held on Saturday, January 21st at NFA. There will be 2 ranges of 15 targets each.

ASA Qualifier will be held on Sunday, January 22nd at NFA. Volunteers will be needed to help set up course. Mike Shea will be working on January 19th starting at 10:00 am to get targets set up.

An Introduction to Archery class will be held on February 11th at 1:00 pm.

4-H Club has offered to provide lunch for the Circuit Shoot and the ASA Qualifier. 4-H has offered to provide lunch for some of the other shoots. Mike Shea will be coordinating this effort with the 4-H.

Discussion was held regarding whether to reinstate the Chairman of the Board position. Discussed that there should be a better description of the role of Chairman of the Board. It was agreed that the Board responsibilities should be better defined before the motion is made to reinstate the Chairman of the Board position. Butch is calling a Board meeting in February prior to the Club monthly meeting to discuss. All members of the Board will be contacted individually to request that they attend.

Motion to adjourn meeting was made at 7:05 pm and carried.
