|   Officers present: John Guttry, Bill Laudermilk, Hank
Gaspari, Jim Parsons, Charlie Nelson   The meeting was called to order at 6:01 pm and opened with
the Pledge of Allegiance and a moment of silence for our troops.   The treasurer’s report was read by Hank Gaspari.  The report was approved as read   The minutes of the February 4, 2009 meeting were read by
Jim Parsons. The minutes were approved as read.   Discussion of old business:   Bill Loudermilk has located 6 broadhead targets in
Georgia.  Since these targets are very
heavy and shipping cost would be high, he has volunteered to pick them
up.  The club agreed to pay his fuel
charges.   Bill Loudermilk has located a supplier for the new “Safety
and Membership Guidelines” sign, as discussed at the February meeting. A
nomination was made, seconded and approved for the purchase of this new sign.   New Business:   Charlie Nelson asked the members present to consider an
“Honorary” membership for Roy Pike.  A
Nomination was made, seconded and unanimously approved for this Honorary
membership.   There was a discussion about repairing the 3-D
targets.  There is a “Club” kit
available that will repair approximately 5-8 targets.  The “Club” kit is less expensive than the
individual kits we have been using.  A
nomination was made, seconded and approved to purchase one “Club” kit to try
it out and see how it works for us.   The club will host a local Boy Scout troop Sunday March 8,
2009.  Volunteers for these events are
always welcome.   Volunteers will be needed to assist with the setup and
organization of our Annual Traditional Rendezvous. The Rendezvous will be
held the weekend of April 17-19.
Please consider lending us your time to make this a great event… compound
shooters too, thanks. John Guttry has offered to be the Rendezvous cook.   Charlie Nelson discussed the asbestos cleanup that needs to be done at the club. He is coordinating this work with the Military and the City of Jacksonville. You can expect about a three week closing of the club later this year when this work is being completed.   Terry Bumgardner suggested that we look into having a
weekly “Working Man’s” fun shoot.  It
was discussed and determined that we could do such an event maybe twice a
month, probably the 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month.
Jim Parsons will put a voting poll on the website to let the members vote on
their desire for this event. The poll will run the month of March and the
results will be reported at the April meeting.     Adjournment
  – the meeting was adjourned at 6:33 pm. The next meeting will be held on Wednesday, April 1, 2009.                       Recorded by Jim Parsons |
